Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo (JURMAN) adalah jurnal ilmiah akses terbuka (open access) yang menerapkan proses penelaahan sejawat (peer review) dan berfokus pada publikasi artikel penelitian ilmiah dalam bidang ilmu manajemen.

JURMAN bertujuan untuk memfasilitasi penyebarluasan hasil penelitian yang orisinal, berkualitas, dan relevan, serta berkontribusi pada pengembangan teori, pengetahuan empiris, dan praktik manajemen. Jurnal ini menjadi wadah akademik bagi peneliti, akademisi, praktisi, dan pemangku kepentingan untuk berbagi temuan ilmiah serta mengembangkan diskusi akademik mengenai isu dan tantangan manajemen kontemporer.

Fokus utama JURMAN adalah pengembangan ilmu manajemen melalui publikasi penelitian yang memiliki kontribusi teoretis, empiris, dan/atau praktis. Jurnal ini mendorong penelitian yang mengkaji fenomena, permasalahan, dan perkembangan manajemen pada berbagai jenis organisasi dan lingkungan bisnis, baik dalam konteks lokal, nasional, maupun internasional.

JURMAN menerima artikel penelitian empiris, konseptual, dan terapan yang memiliki dasar ilmiah yang kuat serta memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan pengetahuan dan praktik manajemen. Penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, kualitatif, maupun metode campuran (mixed methods) dapat dipertimbangkan sepanjang sesuai dengan fokus dan ruang lingkup jurnal.

Naskah yang diajukan harus menunjukkan relevansi yang jelas dengan bidang ilmu manajemen, memiliki orisinalitas, serta menyajikan kontribusi ilmiah yang dapat dipertanggungjawabkan.

Dewan Redaksi Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo telah menetapkan proses peninjauan sejawat berikut untuk memastikan kualitas, orisinalitas, relevansi, dan integritas akademik dari semua manuskrip yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal ini.

Semua manuskrip yang dikirimkan ke Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo harus sesuai dengan fokus dan cakupan jurnal, pedoman penulis, dan persyaratan pengiriman. Manuskrip harus menunjukkan orisinalitas, nilai ilmiah, ketelitian metodologis, dan relevansi dengan bidang manajemen.

Penapisan Editorial Awal

Semua manuskrip yang dikirimkan akan melalui proses penyaringan awal oleh Tim Editorial untuk menilai:

• kesesuaian dengan fokus dan cakupan jurnal;
• kepatuhan terhadap Pedoman Penulis;
• kelengkapan dan kualitas manuskrip;
• orisinalitas dan kebaruan penelitian;
• appropriateness of the research methodology; and
• compliance with publication ethics.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected before entering the peer-review process.

Plagiarism and Similarity Screening

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo must be original and free from plagiarism.

Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts and are encouraged to perform a similarity check before submission.

The Editorial Team conducts plagiarism and similarity screening using Turnitin as part of the initial evaluation process.

If substantial similarity, plagiarism, inappropriate citation, or other potential ethical issues are identified, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification or revision, or rejected in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

Double-Blind Peer Review

Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo applies a double-blind peer-review system, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process.

Each manuscript that passes the initial editorial screening will normally be reviewed by at least two independent peer reviewers who have expertise relevant to the subject of the manuscript.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several important aspects, including:

• originality and novelty of the research;
• relevance of the topic to the journal's focus and scope;
• clarity of research objectives;
• appropriateness and rigor of the research methodology;
• accuracy and quality of data analysis;
• objectivity and clarity of the discussion;
• scientific, theoretical, and/or managerial implications;
• consistency between the results and conclusions;
• quality and relevance of references; and
• overall contribution of the manuscript to the field of management.

Where necessary, the Editor may appoint an additional reviewer to provide further assessment, particularly when there are substantial differences between the recommendations of the initial reviewers.

Editorial Decision

The reviewers provide recommendations and constructive comments to assist the authors in improving the quality of their manuscripts and to support the Editor in making an editorial decision.

The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or the responsible Editor, taking into consideration:

• the recommendations of the peer reviewers;
• the scientific quality and originality of the manuscript;
• the authors' responses to reviewers' comments;
• compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical standards; and
• the suitability of the manuscript for publication in Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo.

Peer-review recommendations are an important part of the decision-making process; however, the final publication decision remains the responsibility of the Editorial Board.

Accepted manuscripts will proceed to the editing and production stages before being scheduled for publication in an appropriate issue.

Review Outcomes

Based on the results of the editorial evaluation and peer-review process, a manuscript may receive one of the following decisions:

1. Accept Submission

The manuscript is accepted for publication without requiring substantive revision. Minor editorial corrections may still be made during the copyediting and production process.

2. Revision Required

The manuscript requires minor or moderate revisions based on comments from the Editor and/or reviewers.

Authors must revise the manuscript and provide appropriate responses to the comments provided. The revised manuscript may be evaluated by the Editor without requiring another full round of peer review.

3. Resubmit for Review

The manuscript requires substantial or major revisions.

Authors are invited to revise and resubmit the manuscript. The revised manuscript will normally undergo another round of peer review before a final editorial decision is made.

4. Resubmit Elsewhere

The manuscript is considered unsuitable for publication in Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo, particularly because its subject matter, approach, or contribution does not sufficiently correspond to the journal's focus and scope.

Authors may consider submitting the manuscript to another journal that is more appropriate to the subject of the research.

5. Decline Submission

The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the journal's scientific, methodological, ethical, originality, or publication standards.

A declined manuscript will not proceed further in the editorial process.

6. See Comments

The reviewer or Editor may provide specific recommendations that require the authors' attention before an editorial decision can be finalized.

Authors are expected to carefully address the comments and submit the required revisions or clarification.

Revision Process

Authors who receive a revision decision must carefully address all comments and recommendations provided by the reviewers and Editor.

Authors are expected to:

• submit a revised version of the manuscript;
• clearly indicate the changes made;
• provide responses to reviewers' comments where required; and
• provide a scientific justification when a reviewer recommendation is not adopted.

Failure to submit revisions within the period specified by the Editor may result in the manuscript being withdrawn from the editorial process.

Final Publication Decision

The final decision to publish a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board where necessary.

Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo (JURMAN) utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system to establish a distributed digital preservation network among participating libraries. This system enables libraries to collect, store, and preserve journal content to ensure long-term access, preservation, and restoration of published articles.

Jurnal Manajemen STIE Muhammadiyah Palopo (JURMAN) is committed to maintaining the integrity of scholarly research and publication. The journal addresses allegations of research and publication misconduct in accordance with the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

1. Types of Research Misconduct

Research and publication misconduct may include plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, duplicate or redundant publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, peer-review manipulation, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and violations of research ethics, including the misuse of confidential or personal data.

2. Reporting Allegations

Allegations may be reported by authors, reviewers, editors, readers, or other concerned parties through the official JURMAN editorial contact. Reports should provide a clear description of the suspected misconduct and any available supporting evidence. All allegations will be handled confidentially and without discrimination.

3. Investigation and Evaluation

The Editor-in-Chief or an independent editor without a conflict of interest will conduct an initial assessment of the allegation. The journal may request clarification and supporting documents from the parties involved and, where necessary, consult the relevant institution or research ethics committee. All parties concerned will be given a fair opportunity to respond.

4. Editorial Actions

Based on the findings and the seriousness of the misconduct, JURMAN may take appropriate action, including requesting clarification or corrections, rejecting a submitted manuscript, issuing a correction or an expression of concern, or retracting a published article. Reviewers provide independent academic assessments and recommendations. The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor makes the final editorial decision based on the reviewers' reports, scientific quality, and compliance with journal policies.

Editorial decisions may include acceptance, revision, additional review, or rejection. Recommendations from reviewers do not automatically determine the final decision.

5. Reviewer Responsibilities

The journal supports the responsible and transparent use of these technologies while maintaining academic integrity, originality, accountability, confidentiality, and the independence of editorial decisions.

This policy applies to all authors, reviewers, and editors involved in the submission, evaluation, review, and publication of manuscripts in JURMAN. It is intended to complement the journal's existing editorial and publication ethics policies.

1. General Principles and Scope

Generative AI refers to artificial intelligence technologies capable of generating content such as text, images, computer code, and other materials in response to user instructions. AI-assisted technologies may also support tasks such as language editing, data organization, and analytical processes.

JURMAN recognizes these technologies as supporting tools, not substitutes for human intellectual contributions. Authors, reviewers, and editors remain fully responsible for their respective academic and editorial duties.

2. Permitted Use of Generative AI by Authors

Authors may use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies responsibly to support manuscript preparation, provided that the use does not compromise originality, scientific validity, or the authors' independent intellectual contribution.

Permitted supporting activities may include language editing, grammar correction, translation, improvement of readability, manuscript formatting, and preliminary organization of research materials.

Authors must carefully review, verify, and revise any AI-assisted content before including it in a manuscript. AI-generated text must not replace the authors' independent scientific reasoning, critical analysis, interpretation, or conclusions.

Generative AI must not be used to produce fabricated research findings, invent references, create unsupported scientific claims, or present generated content as independently verified research evidence.

3. Disclosure and Transparency of Generative AI Use

Authors must disclose any substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies during manuscript preparation or research activities. The disclosure must identify the tool used, its version where available, the purpose of its use, and the parts of the research or manuscript affected.

Where generative AI is used during manuscript preparation, authors should include a statement entitled Declaration of Generative AI Use before the References section.

For example:

"The authors used [AI tool name] to assist with [specific purpose]. All AI-assisted content was reviewed and verified by the authors, who assume full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the manuscript."

If no generative AI tools were used, authors may state:

"The authors declare that no generative AI or AI-assisted technologies were used in the preparation of this manuscript."

Routine functions such as conventional spell-checking and basic reference formatting do not ordinarily require a separate declaration unless they involve substantive generative AI assistance.

4. Authorship and Research Integrity

Generative AI systems and AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of articles submitted to JURMAN.

Authorship is reserved for human contributors who can take responsibility for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and publication of the scholarly work.

Authors must ensure that AI-assisted materials do not contain plagiarism, fabricated information, inaccurate citations, misleading interpretations, or violations of intellectual property rights.

Authors are responsible for checking all references and confirming that every cited source exists, is accurately represented, and supports the claims made in the manuscript.

5. Generative AI in Research Methods and Data Analysis

JURMAN recognizes that AI-based methods may form a legitimate part of scientific research, including management, business, and organizational studies.

The use of AI for research-related activities, such as data classification, text analysis, predictive modeling, coding assistance, or other analytical procedures, may be permitted when scientifically appropriate and transparently reported.

When AI is used as part of the research methodology, authors must provide sufficient information in the Methods section, including the tool or model used, its version where available, the analytical purpose, relevant procedures, and the methods used to validate the results.

Authors must ensure that AI-assisted analyses are methodologically sound, reproducible where reasonably possible, and consistent with applicable research ethics and data protection requirements.

Confidential, proprietary, sensitive, or personally identifiable research data must not be entered into external AI systems without appropriate authorization and adequate safeguards.

6. Generative AI in Figures, Tables, and Images

Authors must not use generative AI to fabricate, misrepresent, or improperly manipulate research data, statistical results, figures, tables, or other forms of scientific evidence.

AI-assisted visualizations may be considered when their use is scientifically justified, accurately represents the underlying data, and is appropriately disclosed.

Any generative AI use in producing or modifying research-related images or visual materials must be clearly explained. Authors remain responsible for accuracy, copyright compliance, and the integrity of the original information.

7. Generative AI Use by Reviewers and Editors

All submitted manuscripts, supplementary materials, peer-review reports, and editorial correspondence must be treated as confidential documents.

Reviewers and editors must not upload unpublished manuscripts, identifiable manuscript excerpts, confidential review reports, or editorial communications to external generative AI tools.

Generative AI must not be used to replace independent scientific evaluation, peer-review judgment, or editorial decision-making.

Reviewers are responsible for preparing objective, critical, and constructive assessments based on their own academic expertise. Editors remain responsible for manuscript evaluation, reviewer selection, editorial decisions, and communication with authors.

Any use of technological tools in editorial administration must preserve confidentiality, data protection, fairness, and human oversight.

8. Misuse of Generative AI and Editorial Actions

JURMAN considers undisclosed substantive AI use, fabricated references, falsified data, misrepresentation of research findings, plagiarism, and breaches of confidentiality to be potential violations of research and publication ethics.

When potential misuse is identified, the editorial team may request clarification, supporting documentation, or revision from the authors or other parties concerned.

Depending on the findings and the seriousness of the violation, editorial actions may include manuscript revision, rejection, correction, expression of concern, or retraction of a published article.

The journal will assess suspected misconduct using available evidence and appropriate editorial procedures. Automated AI-detection scores alone will not be treated as conclusive proof of misconduct.

All investigations and editorial actions will follow JURMAN's Publication Ethics and applicable guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
